How I’ve increased my Organic traffic by 91% with Long Tail Queries

We all know that long tail keywords is the new strategy to get ranked fast on Google. Long tail keywords have a very low competition with good search volume.

We also know a bunch tool to compile an awesome list of long tail keywords. But I have seen most of marketers getting confused when it comes to the integration of long tail keywords in content.

So today I am going to share my recent experience of utilizing long tail keywords in my content and noticed a boost in my traffic by 91% within 4 months.Long tail Keywords integration

The snapshot you are watching above has been taken from the google analytics account of my recent SEO project. The website is already ranked with 150 keywords on google.com. I am working on this project since 2013, and increased their conversion by 345%. In early 2015 I suggested them to target some long tail keywords for their business.

They allowed me to apply that strategy, and we saw an increment in organic traffic by 91% and increment in conversion by 27%.

Today I am going to reveal my secret of integrating long keywords on your website to get maximum organic traffic.

Long tail Keywords are specific to a single topic, so you can only target one or two long tail keywords for a single page. I personally prefer webmaster to utilize long tail keywords in dynamic content of your website. When I say dynamic content, that means I am talking about content that can be updated frequently. Like Blog Posts, Youtube videos, infographics etc.
Below are the few tips for you to integrate the long tail keywords in your content.

1-Optimize the Title of your Article:

Let say we are working on a website that provide body building supplements. Here is my long tail keyword I have selected for content optimization. “Body Building Supplements for beginners” and I have googled this keyword. Here are the results.

The first four listings have properly optimized titles for the selected keywords. Google still gives credit to optimize titles and take them into account while ranking any webpage.

2-Optimize the Headings for your page

Let’s get to the fourth listing we have found on google. For this webpage, the webmaster has optimized the H1 and H2 with the same keywords.

He is actually taking advantage of putting long tail keywords in headings on his page. Keywords in H1 tags is not in the list of rankings factors of 2015 shared by moz. But when we see the above results, we have found that it still works with long tail keywords.

3-Optimize Content for long tail keywords

Covering long tail keywords in page content also helps. But you have to keep in mind that you can only use these kind of keywords a few times in your content. You can bold them, but I always prefer my students to emphasize keywords, when they are optimizing the content. Let get into the same webpage example. Here is what I have found.

The webpage has 800-1200 word content, and the webmaster has used his desired keyword only one time on webpage.

However, he has used word “Supplements” 12 times. This shows us that his first priority was the web users and then secondly, he focused on search engines.

4-Optimize the images long tail keywords

Long tail keywords can be used in image optimization. Sticking with the same example, when you see this first image in this article.

5-Internal linking with long tail keywords Anchor

Internal linking is an awesome way to get indexed and ranked fast, I always suggestion SEOs to do internal linking. Internal linking keep your old posts fresh and indexed, it helps in decreasing bounce rate and optimizing the user experience and page views. This webmaster is also taking advantage of internal linking. He added the related articles in the last of the page, all articles are already optimized with long tail keywords.

We can use long tail keywords as shortcut to grow our business. With the proper strategy and integration, you can increase your organic traffic up to 50%-70%. The Conversion rate can be increased by 20%-34% as compared to head Keywords.
